Sound detection, voice recognition and motion analysis all run on the phone. Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded, and no server is involved in deciding whether this is an emergency. A text with a fresh location goes out, a call is placed, and it escalates round after round (three on SeniorGuardian; on DriveGuardian and SoloGuardian you choose the interval and the number of rounds). How it stands down differs by app: with DriveGuardian and SoloGuardian you must answer the callback yourself; with SeniorGuardian, any family member calling back is enough — the senior never has to pick up. Most personal safety products start with a button. That assumes you are conscious, that your hands are free, and that the phone is within reach. A stroke, a fall, a seizure, a hand pinned under you — in those moments there is nobody left to press the button. The alert is dialled and texted by the phone in your hand, over the ordinary mobile network — not by a company server somewhere on the internet. No data connection, no Wi-Fi, no account, no service to go down at three in the morning. If your phone can make a call, it can call for help. Safety Timer — you set when to worry定时守护——由你自己设置，什么时候该担心
The other triggers each have a reach of their own: a whistle, a voice, a tap on the back of the phone need you to still be able to act; inactivity monitoring needs hours of silence to pass before it can suspect anything. Safety Timer covers the gap between them — the moments when you cannot act, and hours would be too late. Before a bath, before sleep, before a shift alone, you set a time. If you're fine, you tap "I'm OK" and it's over. If the time runs out, the phone rings for three minutes first (adjustable) — most forgotten timers end right there, with nobody troubled. Only if nobody answers does the alert go out to your contacts, with your location. The presets fit each app: bath, nap and night on SeniorGuardian; an eight-hour shift on DriveGuardian; working alone, a night in, or an errand out on SoloGuardian — and a custom timer on all three. Blow a whistle and the app hears it, with two detection methods running side by side across a band of real whistle frequencies. It must be a dual-tone whistle — the kind with two chambers, sold for coaching and outdoor use. Failsafe escalation, with callback verification完整求救链
Texts and calls, escalating round after round until the alarm is answered. What counts as answered differs by app: on DriveGuardian and SoloGuardian you must pick up the callback yourself, so that nobody else can silence your alarm for you; on SeniorGuardian any family member calling back is enough, because the senior may not be able to pick up. SeniorGuardian runs three rounds; on DriveGuardian and SoloGuardian you set the interval and how many rounds to run. When the phone has an internet connection, the first-round alert carries a link. Anyone who receives the message can open it on any phone and tap once to say "I've got this" — no sign-up, no app to install. It keeps several contacts from all rushing to the same place, and from each assuming somebody else already went. What a claim does differs by app, for the same reason a callback does: on SeniorGuardian any family member claiming stops the alarm, because the senior may not be able to pick up at all; on DriveGuardian and SoloGuardian a claim is a notice only and the chain runs its full course — contacts responding while the person themselves stays silent is exactly the case where the danger is not over. The only thing that stops the alarm is the person picking up the callback. Everything in the first group assumes the person in trouble can still act — reach the phone, tap it, answer a call. SeniorGuardian is built on the opposite assumption. A senior who has fallen, fainted, wandered off, or simply run out of battery cannot press anything and cannot answer anything. Every feature unique to SeniorGuardian closes one of those gaps: hours without activity, gone from home too long, a phone about to die, a guard silently killed. It isn't one extra feature. A silent alarm solves one specific problem: someone dangerous is standing next to you and must not know you called for help. That is a driver's problem, and it is the problem of anyone walking home alone. A senior's emergency is almost always the opposite — there is nobody there at all. A hidden tap gesture would only be one more thing to remember. No. Detection and alerting run entirely on the phone. What you do need is normal mobile service, because alerts are sent as text messages and phone calls. What kind of whistle do I need?需要什么样的哨子？
It must be a dual-tone whistle, physically a whistle with two chambers, the kind sold for coaching, refereeing and outdoor use. A single-tone whistle will not trigger an alert. This is deliberate. Requiring two tones at the same time is what keeps ordinary background noise out: we tested it against smoke alarms, televisions, knocking and slammed doors, dragged chairs and tables, knocking on walls, tumble dryers, washing machines, microwaves and ovens. Test it yourself, in the app. Settings has a whistle self-test button below the alarm test. Stand about three metres from the phone and blow the whistle ten times, two or three seconds apart. It must register nine out of ten to pass: green means keep that whistle, red means buy a proper dual-tone one. The self-test only listens, it never sends a text or places a call. What is the Safety Timer for?定时守护是做什么的？
For the situations no detector can reach: someone who collapses without a sound, in their sleep or in the shower, unable to whistle, call out or tap the phone. You set a time in advance — before a bath, before sleep, before a shift alone. If you're fine you tap "I'm OK". If the time runs out with no answer, your contacts are alerted with your location. What if I simply forget to tap "I'm OK"?如果我就是忘了点「我没事」呢？
The phone rings first, on the alarm volume, for three minutes — and it rings in short bursts rather than continuously, so the whistle and voice triggers keep working through the gaps. Most forgotten timers end right there: you hear it, you tap, nobody is troubled. Only if nobody answers does the alert go out. And if a contact is troubled by a false alarm, the cost is one phone call to check you're fine. I wake up two or three times a night. Do I have to set it again each time?我一晚上要醒两三次，每次都得重设一遍吗？
No. On the night preset, "I'm OK" starts the same length of time over again from that moment. Confirm at 1am and the rest of the night stays guarded, without touching a single setting. The other presets end when you confirm, since a bath or a nap is over once you're up — and you can change either behaviour in Settings.不用。夜间场景下，按「我没事」会从那一刻起把同样的时长再起一遍。凌晨一点确认一次，后半夜依然守着，不需要动任何设置。其他场景按「我没事」即结束，因为洗完澡、睡醒了本来就该结束——两种行为都可以在设置页里改。
Why doesn't a family claim stop the alarm on DriveGuardian and SoloGuardian?为什么在 DriveGuardian 和 SoloGuardian 上，家人认领不会停止求救？
Because a contact responding is not the same as the person being safe. Picture a driver held in their own car: family get the text, tap claim, and if that stopped the alarm the driver would still be in the car while everyone believed it had been handled. So on these two apps a claim only means "someone has seen this and is on it", and the chain runs the rounds you set. Only the person picking up the callback themselves counts as the alarm being answered. No. Sound is analysed on the phone as it arrives and is never written to storage, never uploaded, and never sent anywhere. The same is true of the voice trigger: there is no cloud speech service involved.不会。声音在手机本地即时分析，不落盘、不上传、不发往任何地方。语音唤醒同样如此——全程没有云端语音服务参与。
How much battery does it use?耗电大概是多少？
On a recent phone, guarding used about 9% of the battery over 24 hours with the screen off, and used essentially no mobile data and no GPS while idle. Older phones cost more: our 2017 test device spent roughly half its battery in a day. SeniorGuardian runs three escalating rounds. On DriveGuardian and SoloGuardian you decide: both the interval between rounds and how many rounds to run are yours to set. Escalation stops when the alarm is stood down, or when the callback is answered. Stand it down. What happens when the 21-day trial ends?21 天试用结束后会怎样？
Guarding stops. The app keeps your settings, but it will not monitor or alert until you buy it. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not restart the trial: the device is recognised and the original expiry date is returned.守护会停止。App 会保留你的设置，但在购买之前不再监测、也不再求救。卸载重装不会重新开始试用——设备会被识别，返回的仍是最初那个到期时间。

Phone makers kill background apps aggressively, so three layers of watchdog were built specifically for this. If the guard is stopped anyway, the phone shows a notification you tap once to restore it, and the app re-arms itself three minutes after every reboot.
